In analysing reactions to socio-political changes, Niccolo Machiavelli posited that: "There is nothing more difficult to plan, more doubtful of success, nor more dangerous to manage than a new system. For the initiator has the enmity of all who would profit by the preservation of the old institution and merely lukewarm defenders in thosep who gain by the new ones."
This might be correct in many climes. However, since the emergence of Dr. Peter Mbah as the People's Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Enugu State, there have been manifest significant exceptions to this social norm. Born 51 years ago in Owo - Nkanu East LGA.
A champion of organic business enterprise and wealth creation, Mbah rose from nothing to something. To enable full incubation and seamless impartation of Mbah's trademark organic business ideas to her products, Godfrey Okoye University appointed Mbah among other key players in Nigeria's business sector and academia department to the board of the university Senate, having been conferred with a doctorate honor in the political science. Dr. Mbah was called early in life like Jeremiah, not into the prophetic ministry, but into the ministry of giving. Burning with inflammable desire not just to put temporal smiles on people's faces, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah did not channel the enthralling yields of his entrepreneurial breakthroughs to the acquisition of exotic tastes and vainglorious titles. He established Peter Mbah Foundation as a vehicle for his outreach to the needy. A personification of gratitude, Mbah alongside his wife, has through this foundation shown gratitude to his home community of Owo, Enugu state and humanity. He built and donated St. Cecilia cottage hospital, well equipped with modern medical laboratory machines and other necessary equipment, built roads as well as primary and secondary school blocks. His scholarship programme has given high profile educational opportunities to thousands of gifted but indigent students; and his financial post-lock down unconditional cash transfer programme for students of Enugu state, aged men and women helped save the educational careers of the many beneficiaries, as well as putting food on the table of these aged parents who were equally the beneficiaries of his kind heart. Over the years, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah has continued to serve as a ladder through which budding entrepreneurs climb to their destinies through periodic calls for business proposals and unconditional sponsorship of selected ones. At the height of political and economic victimization in his hometown of Owo in Enugu State, Dr. Mbah has successfully doused the tension that could have arisen from the youths who form the bulk of the victims by rehabilitating and gainfully reintegrating them into the economic system through organic donations.
The entrance of young and ebullient Peter Mbah, who by all ramifications is a unique politician, is a watershed in the history of political development in Enugu State. Mbah's well articulated manifesto entitled: "statement of purpose" with the four point agenda of Accelerated Economic Development and Industrialization; Cohesive Security Infrastructure; Human Capital Development as well as Institutional Reform and Rule of Law. Mbah is a man fully prepared for the service opportunity he seeks from Ndi-Enugu. Anchoring the focus of his manifesto on "industrialization" or human capital development, wealth creation and security which are core needs of Enugu people, shows that Mbah completely understands Ndi-Enugu. Dr. Mbah whose constituency, tribe and religion is humanity personifies the new and positive order which Ndi-Enugu crave. Hence, the ever increasing army and f resolute followers and the infectious acceptance he and his political brand enjoy across the length and breadth of Enugu State.
