With the ICT sector leading in terms of its contribution to national GDP (17.83%), Nigeria’s digital economy presents a
unique opportunity for employment and job creation. However, this will require improvements in digital skills and literacy amongst young people.
In line with Dr. Peter Mbah's Manifesto which seeks for "structured mass ICT education in all primary, seconday and teritary institutions in the state", Dr Peter Mbah and his running mate, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai visited the Data Analytics Training Program organized by the Grow Enugu Agenda Project (GEAP) for Dr.Peter Mbah 2023, where 170 Ndi Enugu Youths are currrently undergoing a three (3) months trai ing to learn relevant tech skills in Advanced Excel, SQL and Power BI in line with the Human Capital Development and Tech Upskilling Mandate of Dr. Peter Mbah's led administration.
The Executive Member for Grow Enugu Agenda Project (GEAP) Hon. Arinze Chilo-Offiah stated that "Although young people are described as digital natives, there is a digital literacy gap which excludes young people from harnessing the opportunities that the digital economy presents".
