One ChikaIdoko had filed a suit at Federal High Court Enugu seeking the disqualification of all PDP candidates in Enugu State over allegation of submission of its membership register out of time as required by the electoral act. The opposition in Enugu State went wild with over hyping the matter on social media, hoping to benefit from it. It was more like media trial of the PDP where the opposition was the plaintiff and the judge at the same time. While Idoko's suit had yet to be exhausted by the court, Ugo Agballa and his deserted APC in Enugu State filed another suit on the same grounds, claiming it was not aware of Idoko's pending suit on the same allegation of irregular submission of register by the PDP to INEC.
On 17th February, 2023, the court presided over by Justice Folashade Giwa-Ogunbanjo, threw out the suit, dismissing it as dead on arrival as Idoko was a meddlesome interloper who was neither a member of the PDP nor an aspirant. As a matter of fact, appellate precedence on similar matters abound. So, it was irresponsible of the said Idoko to waste the time of the court.
We have seen all manner of drama, some unbelievable, being played by the opposition in Enugu State. The target has been to bring down the star candidate of the PDP in the state, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, who has successfully marketed himself to the people of Enugu State. Peter has shown character, competence and capacity. He is a young man who knows his onions, a visionary leader called to serve humanity. He has an antecedent of disruptive innovation and has what it takes to consolidate Ugwuanyi's deliverables, a foundation upon which he would build and take Enugu State to his proposed $30 billion size economy within eight years. While Peter explains this value proposition, what he calls social charter, to the people at the grassroots, the opposition is marooned and rudderless. If the opposition from the labour flank is not generating fictions and fables against Peter, the Ugo Agballa end is telling lies, and filling frivolous cases against the young man.
Chika Idoko is a neophytic politician lured into the dance of shame by the opposition. Little wonder Chijioke Edeoga attempted suicide over the court judgment. Although Idoko is of African Democratic Party and said to be the Enugu North Senatorial candidate of the party, a position he secured at the lowly ebb from were the almost nonexistent status of the party in Enugu State, he was being sponsored by Edeoga and Uche Nnaji. Idoko was a mere media aide to the chairman of Igbo-Eze South Local Government, Hon. Vitus Okechi, but was relieved of the job on grounds of faithless disloyalty. The young man, smarting with malice, played into the hands of malice-driven opposition politics such as championed by desperate ingrate called Chijioke Edeoga, the vile Ugo Agballa, the weather-beaten effete Okey Ezea, the roughish Uche Nnaji and the other faithless ingrate, Frank Nweke Jnr. Idoko ended up being used as a pawn in their political trade. Idoko as a ware could not sell at the market.
The Enugu opposition is peopled by childish ambitions. These are people who have no idea what governance is all about. How can they be electioneering without manifestos? They are all focused on how to besmear the candidate of the PDP. They call him names and sponsor false claims and calumniation against him to ridiculous ends. How would anyone believe that these folks are behind the fake Ego Ndi Enugu video clip, the false allegation of plea bargain, the fake claims to NYSC certificate forgery and the claim that Pinnacle would not deliver products to clients who had paid for them. All these are meant to tarnish the image of Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and create wrong impressions about his person and perhaps ruin his reputation. This is the height of irresponsible politics.
Now that Idoko has been used and dumped into the dustbin of arcane and lugubrious political history, a lesson has been made available for the opposition. George Ogara who parades himself as Uche Nnaji's running mate; whereas Robert Ngwu, is the recognized running mate as contained in INEC portal, had better withdraw with urgent shame, the case he filed in the name of Enugu State APC on a matter similar to Idoko's against the PDP. He should now concentrate on cutting off the ripe palm nuts on his head. His claim of ignorance of Idoko's case has not helped him. The rug has been pulled off their feet.
Ndi Enugu are tired of the despicable politics the opposition in the state has brought to bear on the system. They can't wait for the voting process to be over on 11th March, so that the said opposition would drink the shame of utter defeat to the lees, something that would serve as a deterrent to would-be rebels, infested with desperate overambition, selfishness and wicked vindictiveness.
