A foremost youth body in Nigeria led by Comr. Eze Emmanuel Arinze (Bravo) under the aegies of National Centre For Youths Transformation (NCYT) Nsukka Zone has teamed up with Orba Youths Solidarity Association (OYSA) to deepen their ongoing PVC Collection Sensitization and campaign for Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi's Senatorial Ambition.
The Orba solidarity youth group which is known for taking Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi's campaigns to the grassroots; Schools, Village Squares, Market Places in Enugu North Senatorial District has recently gained support of their National sister body in the zone and extended their sensitization and campaign activities to churches in Orba, Obollo, Opi, Nsukka Ovoko and other areas in the zone to enable their message spread down to all the voters in the axis.
While addressing worshipers at St Jacob Parish Orba in Udenu Local Government Area on Sunday, Comr. Arinze expressed that a leader such as Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who has gone beyond party politics, to demonstrate humanity, candour and raw emotion on the masses especially the youth constituency deserves all our support.
According to Comr. Arinze, Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi remains the most qualified candidate for Enugu North Senatorial Zone and we will continue to campaign for him in appreciation to the good governance we the youths have enjoyed so far from his administration in the state.
"We are equally sensitising the general public on the need to pick up their PCV as the elections draw closer. We also educate them on electioneering procedures and principles while using that opportunity to speak to the youths who dominate the larger percentage of the population and contestants as peaceful and credible elections are essential for democracy to thrive. When elections are peaceful, free and fair, it can help facilitate a smooth transfer of power from one administration to another and confer legitimacy on elected officials. The role of Nigerian youths in election-related violence has been particularly dynamic, in that they have been perpetrators and victims at the same time. Due to eroding societal values and poverty, they are easy recruits for attacks on political opponents" he said.
The Parish Priest Of St Jacob Parish Orba in his statement, Reverend Father Evaristus Emeka Isife commended the youth groups who visited them to pass this important message at a time when it is most needed. Rev. Ushi expressed his dissatisfaction on the collection process as the INEC official in their areas make it difficult for them to collect their PVCs with ease.
"I have personally gone to my nearest collection center in four occasions, but as we speak, I have not been able to pick up mine. I can imagine what other commoners would be going through when a priest like me was turned back four times"
"While I continue to appreciate your efforts in making sure your message gets acrcross to everyone in this zone, I also appeal that you should make appeal that government should make efforts to reach out INEC and order them to distribute PVCs to voters as quickly as possible"
"Collectiion PVCs has become more difficult than applying for it and this is not the same case in other regions of this country"
