Enugu based prominent support movement "Kpakpando Support Group" has condemned a recent statement allegedly made by the South East spokesperson of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, one Mr Joseph Onoh involving Gov Ugwuanyi in Tinubu's Campaign.
According the Publicity Secretary of the group, Gov. Ugwuanyi only received Bola Ahmed Tinubu who came to Enugu to campaign as courtesy demands, but that should not be mistaken for a support or endorsement. The statements attached to the picture of Tinubu and Gov. Ugwuanyi at Enugu Government House was deliberately framed merely to cause a distraction and generate unnecessary attention to the perpetrators.
"Gov. Ugwuanyi has scaled high in basic elements of good governance which include participation, representation, fair conduct of elections. responsiveness, efficiency, effectiveness, transparency, openness to innovation and both competence and capacity. Gov Ugwuanyi is currently a senatorial candidate under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and understands perfectly the implications of making anti-party statements especially in times like this" he said.
In an official statement issued by the Publicity Secretary of Kpakpando Support Group on Tuesday, Mr. Anthony Ikenna, the group completely condemned the approach taken by the oppositions, tagging it "a cheap propaganda"
Statement Reads;
"We the members of Kpakpando Support Group are using this medium to condemned the cheap propaganda by some persons who took advantage of Tinubu's visit to drag our dear Governor, His Excellency, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi CON to APC campaign, thereby misinforming the general public with a picture of Gov. Ugwuanyi and Tinubu at government house Enugu, twisting the news for a support for Tinubu. We also advice those involved to desist from such false and defamatory statement which was a deliberate attempt to damage Gov. Ugwuanyi’s reputation, as the politics of calumny displayed by oppositions will never distract our dear governor"
Kpakpando Support Group is also calling on the people of Enugu North Senatorial Zone to get their PVCs and vote for Governor Ifeanyi, and in the same vein, enjoins Ndi Enugu to vote for Barr. Peter Mbah and Ifeanyi Ossai come February 25th and March 11th 2023 general elections.
