There is a viral video stagemanaged and arranged by Bar. Chijioke Edeoga and his cohorts, where one Lucky Chukwu, a former House of Assembly member, former dismissed Commissioner and a brother to the Labour Party Senatorial candidate for Enugu East Senatorial zone, Oyibo Chukwu, spoke ignorantly, partially and disdainfully against Bar. Peter Mbah, the PDP governorship candidate in Enugu State, while trying to lend support to his paymaster, Bar. Chijioke Edeoga and his sibling, Oyibo Chukwu. Nothing less is expected from Lucky Chukwu, who has not forgiven Senator Chimaroke Nnamani for sacking him as a Commissioner for non-performance and corruption.
The video which is full of lies and unprintable words against the most solid and viable governorship candidate in Enugu, Bar. Mbah, is another act of social mischief and desperation that Bar. Edeoga and unfortunately, Uchenna Nnaji and Frank Nweke are known for.
The man in question who played a written script in the video shot himself on the leg by claiming that Bar. Mbah is from Ezza in Ebonyi state, when Bar. Mbah's ancestral lineage and indigeneship have never been in question or in contention anywhere.
Well, Enugu people and the rest of Nigerians are not surprised with this antics of Bar. Edeoga, Chukwu and his co-travellers, who have accumulated anger against Bar. Mbah and have nothing meaningful to offer Enugu people since the commencement of the campaign except lies, mudslingings, propaganda and campaign of calumny against the most popular and acceptable candidate, Bar. Peter Mbah of the PDP.
It would be recalled that during the Second Republic, some mischievous and malicious politicians of Bar. Edeoga's type came up with the propaganda that then favourable and most sellable governorship candidate of Nigerian Peoples Party (NPP) in Anambra Chief Jim Nwobodo was from Plateau state.
One foolish man from Plateau was compromised by the Nwobodo's opponent and brought down to Anambra state and the man was calling Jim my pikin. This didn't stop the people from voting enmasse for Nwobodo who won the governorship election then.
Even ahead of 2019, some disgruntled elements were in court claiming that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar the then presidential candidate of the PDP is from Cameroon.
The mischievous plaintiffs who instituted the frivolous suit questioning Atiku's identity as a Nigerian lost the case in the court of first instance and abandoned the matter, knowing full well that they cannot make any headway.
Today the same Atiku is the presidential candidate of the PDP for 2023 general elections and nobody is questioning his identity again.
It will not be surprising to see some compromised persons just like the man misyarning about Bar. Mbah in the viral video approaching court in the days ahead to question Bar. Mbah's identity, even when they know the truth.
It could be observed that most of the opposition governorship candidates, who have failed and are worried about Bar. Mbah's soaring popularity and wide acceptance as the best candidate for the job, having been using some meddlesome interlopers and busy bodies to institute frivolous suits in court against Bar. Mbah and his party to see if they can distract or derail him and his electioneering campaigns.
The most interesting thing is that in the face of all these, Mbah has remained undettered, unperturbed and focused. Just like the baseless and meaningless suits against Nwobodo and Atiku's identities that never saw the light of the day in courts, Bar. Edeoga's sponsored video questioning the identity of Bar. Mbah has passed out as no discerning and reasonable persons took it serious, knowing that it is the usual antics of Bar. Edeoga and his Nsukka labourers that have been labouring in vain.
What Bar.Edeoga has failed to understand and realise is that Bar. Mbah is not in the race on the basis of ethnic or tribal background, which is the reason Bar. Edeoga is in the race and has been using Nsukka phantom interest and agenda as campaign tool, Bar. Mbah is in the race, because he has the competence and capacity to deliver the job, having done so in the private sector, where he is today a great oil player and employer of labour.
