Since the idea was to appraise the level of voter education in the rural areas, most of the people sampled were elderly people. As a PDP supporter, and great fan of Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, I am supposed to be pleased with the result, right? But I’m not! Peter Mbah deserves a more sweeping landslide from Enugu people than what the figures indicate. How can whole forty six votes be squandered to the opposition? We need to exert more effort to mop up those errant votes, at least 40% of them. Nevertheless, the figures demonstrate that the guber poll is already in the bag for Peter Mbah and Ifeanyi Ossai.
And it is expected. Here is why: since I was born, I have never seen an aspirant or candidate or governor that compares with Peter Ndubuisi Mbah. He is way out of the ordinary run of candidates that have graced our political landscape. In fact, after Barr. Mbah emerged, I became convinced that the earnest supplications in our churches about Nigeria in Distress were not wasted. God has actually been preparing us for a big-bang.
Now to Enugu Youths: Enugu youths are potentially the greatest beneficiaries of Peter Mbah’s Incoming Administration. What Peter Mbah is offering to Enugu youths on a platter is a leap into quantum prosperity. From ICT to Agro-Allied Industrialisation, E-Commerce, Skills Development, Entertainment, Tourism, Roads, and Housing Scheme etc. - everything points towards a new era. Enugu youths should lead the charge to ensure that Peter Mbah clinches a decisive victory.
And how can youths help? The most powerful vote influencers are youths. Every young person has parents or step-parents, uncles, nephews, cousins etc. who depend on him or her for direction during elections. It’s time to provide the direction so that our elderly ones in the villages are not voodooed into casting their votes for someone without the capacity to engender our collective prosperity.
As a youth you cannot be searching for jobs from pillar to post, yet at a critical time such as we are in today you allow yourself to be emotionally blackmailed to choose a politician over an entrepreneur to lead you. It is, to say the least, self-defeating. Therefore, it is time for Enugu youths and comrades to retire to their villages and begin grassroot canvassing. It is not enough for me to vote right. I must also make sure that my family members don’t waste their votes on candidates that are offering us nothing.
It is time for Enugu youths to set to work. Peter Mbah is the candidate of the youth constituency. He embodies our dream of zero poverty, and zero joblessness. I heard on good authority that Barr. Mbah is not fond of having troops of party supporters around him during his outings. Therefore, let’s re-route our energies towards grassroot penetration and campaign. Arise comrades! Let’s spread the gospel of Peter Mbah in our homes, wards, villages and communities. It is a quid pro quo: we give Mbah/Ossai our votes, and in return they will build us a society we will all be proud of. #Tomorrowishere.
