Why Chijioke Edeoga and Ideke scramble for inroad into Obimo, a town in Nsukka Local Government Council, remains a diminished task best known to them. Much as they tried, much as they met a rock of Gibraltar impervious to their shenanigans. Obimo cannot be deceived. Let Edeoga and Okey Ezea try their failed bid on a people of greater gullibility. Obimo is already taken and resolutely committed to the PDP.
It was on 30th December, the very day the Court of Appeal dismissed Edeoga's suit to be joined in the appealed judgment of the high court which had ruled that Labour Party should conduct a fresh gubernatorial election in Enugu State as the kangaroo primary that purported to have produced Chijioke Edeoga was annulled by the court, when Edeoga and Okey Ezea were marooned yet again to Obimo. To Edeoga and Ideke, Obimo has become a political Mecca of sort. Going to Obimo to shrill like rodents has become to them like "Sailing to Byzantium". Recall that it was at Obimo that Okey Ezea had disgraced himself months ago when he lost his sense of decorum and went full blast like a drunken clown and messed up whatever remained of his warped and deteriorated self in a bid to impugn the person of Governor Ugwuanyi. The people of Obimo had warned Ezea to desist from desecrating the land of Obimo with such vile utterances against the governor.But Ezea would not listen. On 30th December, 2022, he was stealthily smuggled into the hallowed gathering of Ajuona Obimo people on the occasion of Ajuona Day held at the premises of Hilltop Primary School, Ajuona Obimo.He had this time dragged the embattled Chijioke Edeoga as mother would his recalcitrant child to the scene. From Edeoga's countenance, it was obvious he had received the bad news of the dismissal of his suit. Edeoga was pale and wornout and the old- fashioned safari he wore hung on him as would a dummy in a fashion house. It was clear to Edeoga and Ideke they were not welcome, as the people booed and heckled them while they attempted to address the crowd. The chanting of "PDP! PDP!" by the crowd swallowed Edeoga's faint voice. The people of Ajuona Obimo made it clear they were committed to the PDP, knowing full well that Edeoga was not a candidate of any political party.
Meanwhile, while that was ongoing, the People of the proposed Amagu Obimo Autonomous Community celebrated Governor Ugwuanyi and the PDP for the appointments made their sons: Hon. Dr. Reuben Onyishi, Dr. Samuel Ogbonna Onyeisi, Prof. Robsam Ohayi, Hon Chinasa Ogbuanya and Hon. Chigozie Raymond Chibueze. They relived the superlative scorecard of Governor Ugwuanyi and such values as Peter Ndubuisi Mbah proposed as contained in his inimitable manifesto, and resolutely agreed to vote the PDP from Hon. Amos Amadi Agbo, Engr. Chief Vita Abba, Governor Ugwuanyi to Barr. Peter Mbah.
Edeoga and Ideke hurriedly left the scene of the Ajuona Obimo Day in shame as the crowd continued to heckle him and Ideke. The people had expressed worry over Chijioke Edeoga's desperation and his continued campaign which consisted in nothing but mudslinging opponents;whereas, he was not a candidate of any political party.
Ajuona Obimo youths were spoiling for an onslaught to remind Ideke his atrocities, to teach him and Edeoga the lesson of how not to desecrate the land of Obimo with foul language, when Edeoga and the said Ideke were hurriedly smuggled back into the car in which they had come and quicky driven away to avoid being lynched by the youths.
This will teach Edeoga, Ideke and his Labour Party the needed political lesson that Obimo is not a land to be trifled with such politics of bitterness, fiction, deliberate mischief, propaganda and lies. Incidentally, Reuben Onyishi rounded off his engagement at Amagu Obimo and moved to the place of the Ajuona Day, addressed the crowd, clearing Obimo of the the smear of the ugly visit and made a generous donation to the community.
