The people of Obimo in Lagos under the umbrella of Obimo Community in Lagos had yesterday, Saturday, 3rd December, 2023 during the annual Enugu Day event held at Ikeja Cantonment in Lagos, pledged maximum support to the candidacy of Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the Enugu State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who himself and his running mate, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, were present at the occasion.
It was a day of glorious outing for the people of Enugu State who surged into the field in solidarity to Peter Ndubuisi Mbah. Various cultural troupes and masquerades of Enugu extraction were on display. It was a moment of excitement as the various communities in Enugu State had their stands, singing, dancing and ululating with joy at the sight of the PDP candidate, Barr. Peter Mbah, and his running mate, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, while reliving the spirit of the lifting moment of brotherly congregation and camradrie in another state. It was yet a confirmation that Peter Mbah's acceptance is beyond boundaries, seeing that the entire people of Enugu State resident in Lagos have adopted Peter Ndubuisi Mbah as their candidate for the 2023 governorship polls in Enugu State.
The spokesperson of the Obimo Community in Lagos and its former chairman, Mr Aselm Ugwuja Eze, told Peter Mbah when he and Ossai visited the Obimo stand that Obimo was enthralled and impressed at his manifesto which if followed to the letters would translate Enugu State to economic Eldorado. Mr Eze extolled Mbah for his clear understanding of the working of the economy, his intelligence, creativity, mien, aura, charm and charisma which accentuate his suitability for the throne, stating that with Mbah, the philosopher had come to governance. He expressed the support of Obimo community to the PDP, saying that Obimo had always voted the PDP en mass, and this time would repeat what they know how to do best. Mr. Eze told Mbah that one of his campaign managers, Reuben Onyishi, is a known illustrious son of Obimo, and that his inclusion in the campaign council as the Director of Online Media signalled the fact that Obimo would not be left out in his government.

The chairman of Obimo Community in Lagos, Mr Julius Ugwuoke, corroborated Mr Eze and told Peter that Obimo would not in any way waver at supporting him maximally, saying that no one would prefer the vulture to the  eagle that he is.

Peter thanked the people of Obimo for their kind thoughts and urged them to make good their pledge for maximum support, while reiterating his resolve to implement his manifesto whole and entire to the benefit of all Enugu citizens as the GDP of the state will be grown from its present $4.4 billion to $30 billion in eight years; thereby, reducing poverty head count index in the state to zero percent.

The people of Obimo in Lagos were very much excited as reflected in the Ojerima Aguneze masquerade displaying before Peter, while the women sang Mba's praises. As a matter of fact, the Enugu Community in Lagos offered their maximum support to the Mbah/Ossai ticket.

Indeed, there is only one moon. It glows and glitters, lighting the path of the Enugu citizenry. Indeed, tomorrow is here.
