Hmmm Tongues having been wagging over the mild drama created by the sacked and despondent Labour Party governorship candidate in Enugu State, Bar. Chijioke Edeoga during Chief John Nnia Nwodo (jnr)'s recent 70th birthday bash in Enugu.
Bar. Edeoga, who has become more of a confusionist, desperado and dramatist since his sack by the court was seen at the birthday reception, hibernating, hovering and struggling to take a selfie with the Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, who was obviously reluctant to pose with Bar.Edeoga for a snapshot.
When finally Obi saw the shame and humiliation that enveloped Bar. Edeoga, he reluctantly obliged Bar. Edeoga to take the selfie. Bar. Edeoga, who was overwhelmed with joy for the selfie quickly sent it to his social media apologists and fake news peddlers, who have been flooding the social media platforms with it in celebration of a "rare" feat by their paymasters.
From the way and manner, Bar. Edeoga's social media urchins peddled the selfie, one needs no soothsayer to know that the birthday reception was Bar.Edeoga's only opportunity or avenue to see, talk or hobnob with Obi.
This could be deduced from Bar. Edeoga's countenance and comportment immediately after taking the selfie and the way he has been peddling the picture on social media platforms as if it is election victory for him. What a shame.
This is happening at a time taking selfie with Obi is the most commonest and easiest feat any Nigerian can achieve since Obi joined Labour Party.
But who blames Bar.Edeoga, who has been destabilised and upset since his sack by court and total abandonment by the failed Nsukka politicians that railroaded him into the Labour room unprepared.
That was why Bar. Edeoga was also seen at the Enugu Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) event recently fighting for microphone with the Master Of Ceremony (MC) who signalled him to stop his speech because his time was up. He even made attempt to fight the MC for calling him to order as stipulated in the rules of the event.
That Bar.Edeoga is behaving like a bull in China shop or loose canon in most of his public outings should not be a surprise or shock to Enugu people.
That is his character and personality. He is synonymous with belligerence and antagonism. He is very petty, envious and vindictive.
His fights and struggles for executive political power is to use it to coerce people, settle scores and witch-hunt perceived enemies. In terms of ideas and plans to move the state forward, Bar.Edeoga has none hence he has no manifesto or roadmap for the state till date.
Gallivanting between Eha-Amufu and Enugu Ezike in the name of electioneering campaigns despite not being a party candidate will not give Bar. Edeoga governorship seat. What about the rest of the local governments and communities in the state? Are people there not eligible voters? For once let us be serious about this governorship race.
