WHY NDI ENUGU MUST NOT FAIL TO ELECT PETER MBAH, THEIR NEXT GOVERNOR FOR AGGRESSIVE INFRASTRUCTURAL DEPOSITS

By Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku

The aggressive infrastructural development drive of the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the incoming governor of Enugu state, H.E Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, nurtured for Ndi Enugu, which is targeting the opening up the city suburbs, has the potential of boosting the economy of those areas as it is encouraging new investments in residential property, leading to migration of people from the congested city centre.

The acknowledged decision of Ndi Enugu to vote Dr Mbah alongside his running mate, Barr Ifeanyi Ossai as their next governor and deputy, will serve a new lease of life, already emerging in the state with the improvement in the traffic flow, which will record major axis where the infrastructure drive will lead to the construction of slip roads, pedestrian bridges and modern flyovers. For most Enugu residents and those other cities, for that matter, access road and traffic situations are key determinants of the choice of areas of residence, siting of businesses and property investment.

This is the reason Ndi Enugu must in all honesty, elect these intellectuals, professionals, business experts and exceptional politicians as their next governor and deputy governor, respectively without delay, in the next coming elections, slated for march 2023. Experts are of the view that absence of good transportation infrastructure and development in rural semi-urban areas is a factor in the high concentration of the population in city centre across cities in Nigeria. And with Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah as the next governor, a network of roads are created to open in major rural communities among other projects, aimed at developing the rural areas and discourage urban migration drift.

Since millions of Enugu population live in villages and uninhabitable houses. It takes an average one to two or sometimes more hours in energy sapping far distance to travel from Enugu urban to towns like Obollo Afor, University town of Nsukka, Uzouwani, Igboeze north and south, Ezeagu, Oji River, Aninri, Udi and others like Agbani, among many to the city centre, forcing millions of average residents who should ordinarily get cheaper accommodations in those areas, to clamp in poorly ventilated accommodations within the metropolis, because of proximity to work and business places.

Dr Mbah as gubernatorial candidate of a political party, and the incoming governor alongside his deputy, Barr Ifeanyi Ossai, their vision for a new Enugu state, is irrevocably committed to making our dear state an investment haven and they have made it a duty to put in place top class infrastructure that will facilitate movement of people, goods and materials. They are confident that these initiatives will boost commercial activities in this axis, support economic growth and significantly reduce travel times as well as other cost associated with migration challenges.

Ndi Enugu, indeed, tomorrow is here.
