This is an integrated package of measures, contained on the well-structured manifesto, genuinely envisioned to improve the economy, accessibility and environment of Enugu state. Mba's strategy on primordial transport system was conceived of good ideas, innovative structure and vision for a new Enugu. This was graciously endorsed by the people of Enugu state, during the manifesto unveiling that took place on 13th October 2022. It was a unique experience that has never happened before in the history of Enugu state.
His Excellency, the incoming governor's strategy for the modern transport system in Enugu came with backbone of successful economies, they are the lifetimes of cities and regions and provide important economic and social factors. But the idea behind this template does not mean simply moving more traffic faster- it means developing sustainable solutions that are clean, resource efficient, safe and affordable.
Dr Peter Mba's mega plan of avoiding, shifting and improving transport, vis-a-vis the primordial approach to the new Enugu transport scheme. As governor, he is guided by the principle of the avoid-shift and improving transportation. Its motivated in pursuing resource-conserving and efficient mobility which takes into account the needs of the most vulnerable.
In simple terms, avoid or reduce travel or the need to travel, for example by avoiding long journeys through compact settlement development. Shift to more energy efficient transport modes, such as walking, cycling and public transport. And improve efficiency through intelligent traffic management, fuel efficient vehicles and alternatives. Especially electric drive technology.
The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) recognizes that any measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the transport sector, not only improves the climate balance, but also makes a significant contributions to the sustainable development goals (SDGs) Dr Peter Mba believes that if transport and mobility are planned around people, this will have a greater positive compounding effects on economic growth, social integration, health and quality of life for Ndi Enugu. This and many more are what he has prepared to offer to the people of Enugu state when voted into office as their next governor, come 2023.
