One of the major programmes that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 gubernatorial election in Enugu state, Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah is poised to give greater attention in mapping suitable lands for development. This is essential to land use planning efforts that aim to model, anticipate, and manage trade offs between economic development and the environment.
Since the previous land suitability assessment have generally focused on a few development sectors or lack consistent methodologies, thereby the ability to plan for cumulative development pressures across geographic sectors. Here, Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah's vision to generate a 10,000 kilometer of road network infrastructures spatially-explicit global land suitability maps for an intake in the rural and urban connectivity in infrastructural expansion, referred to as development potential indices, for sectoral related to renewable energy, concentrated solar power, photovoltaic solar, wind, hydropower, fossil fuels, coal conventional and unconventional oil and gas, mining, metallic and non metallic, agriculture-crop biofuels expansion.
To do so, Dr Peter Mbah's development ideologies applied spatial multi-criteria decision analysis techniques that accounted for both resource potential and development feasibility. For each development potential indices, the incoming governor examined both uncertainty and sensitivity, and spatially validated the maps using locations of planned development. One can clearly understand quite sure, he illustrated how these plans can be used to elucidate potential individual or private sector expansion and cumulative development patterns. His Excellency, Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, is a man known for goal oriented, poised with an attitude for innovative measures. He has discovers so many talents in Enugu and is prepared to harnessing them accordingly when taking off as the elected governor of Enugu state, comes march 2023.
Ndi Enugu cannot afford to let this vision dies away because of some mere political propaganda orchestrated by few bad elements to divert attentions. It is therefore, encumbered on us to take up this challenge by ensuring Dr Peter Mbah is elected the next governor of our dear state of Enugu. Yes, we can do this collectively to enable us enjoy our tomorrow.
